AIKEN, S.C. --- David Cannon's attorney Eric Bland tells News 12 the former James Brown trustee will not be going to jail for now.

Cannon was scheduled to go to jail Friday if he did not pay $433,000 back to the Aiken County Court.

The Court did say the other side has until the 31st of this month to submit reasons why Cannon should still go to jail.

Cannon has not paid back the money and will not be going to jail on Friday - at least for now.
