ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.---Augusta firefighter Laddie Williams is riding his bike across the country to raise money for the families of the nine Charleston firefighters who died in a furniture store fire this summer.

Williams rode into Albuquerque last night, where local TV stations covered his arrival. He rode part of the way on the famous old Route 66.

Williams plans to be in Charleston by mid-October. We'll keep you up to date on his travel.
