Voices & Vibes: USCA students volunteer over Fall Break in New Orleans

AIKEN, S.C. -- Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans six years ago, and many families and communities are still dealing with the aftermath.

However, the students at USC Aiken have been giving up their Fall Break for the past five years to aid the people in need in the Big Easy.

Volunteers got down and dirty to help rebuild homes for families who lost them in the hurricane.

Students were not the only ones laboring away to build these houses. Faculty also put on some elbow grease to help out.

This community service event is carried out to help the people of New Orleans and to motivate students to get involved and lend a hand to those who need assistance.

The Pacers are ready to assist again next year and said they are even more prepared to help out around the CSRA.
