Voices & Vibes: Augusta group lands single on top Billboard Charts

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Amid a flourishing hip-hop scene in Augusta, DredNeck, formally known as Jemani, has successfully ranked No. 14 on the Billboard Retail Sales Chart for their single "Glitterbone."

Ike Isaac, a ninth grade English teacher at T.W. Josey High School, and Sonny Wall, a union contractor, were both excited but questionable about their recent accomplishment.

"Glitterbone" was published under their original group name Jemani, but Isaac and Wall changed the band name to DredNeck.

The two met each other over 10 years ago, and began working together to produce their unique sound and achieve the same goals.

The group has won a variety of showcases around the CSRA.

Since their music is a mixture of hip-hop and rock, Isaac and Wall seek to bring a new flavor to the industry.

As their single continues to climb the charts, surpassing singles by Nicki Minaj and Lady Antebellum, DredNeck is ready for bigger and better things.
