Voices & Vibes: ASU recognizes Violence Awareness Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Violence affects people all over the CSRA, the nation and the world.

That is why Augusta State University has recognized the fourth week of October as Violence Awareness Week.

The Violence Awareness Week committed has been orchestrating events and panels with guest speakers for three years to observe different types of violence and the victims affected.

With the help of the ASU Counseling Center, campus groups such as the Lambda Alliance and external organizations such as Safe Homes and Sean's Last Wish are helping in this year's festivities.

Organizers and participants expect an even better turnout in this year's events.

The parents of Sean Kennedy will also play a major role in speaking out against all kinds of violence.
