AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Every semester, the Sandhill Writing series at Augusta State University brings two famous authors to present their work and speak to creative writing students and interested in fine writing.
Cornelius Eady, a Pullitzer Prize nominee for his third book, "The Gathering of My Name," was the second speaker for this year's fall series.
Eady's presentation included samples of his writing and poetry and he showed students the connections between poetry and different styles of music.
The Pulitzer nominee was chosen to appear in this fall's Sandhill series because of his high demand, accomplishments and the diversity of his work.
Eady, along with others, hope that students learned the importance of creativity and paying attention to the smallest details in life to become a better writer.
