Thirsty thieves take off with 19 cases of beer

AIKEN, SC (WRDW)-Beer bandits take off with 19 cases from Wal-Mart on Whiskey Rd. over the course of three days.

According to reports from the Department of Public Safety, the first incident took place on Monday, January 27th when employees say a woman tried to walk out of the store with beer and shrimp. An employee stopped her, but did not not call public safety.

Then on the Tuesday, two other people left the store with 10 cases of Bud Light. The following day the same thieves from Tuesday, stole 9 more cases of Bud Light. One took the beer from the store while his accomplice waiting for him outside in a white extended cab Ford pick-up truck.

On Thursday, January 29th, employees say the woman who attempted to steal beer on Monday was back in the store. According to the public safety report, she then put 5 cases of beer in a cart and starting pushing it to the front. The manager placed a cashier near the exit, while contacting public safety.

The woman took off before an officer arrived. Employees identified the truck as being the same as the one used in the previous thefts.
