WASHINGTON, D.C. - General Electric and Sharp have announced a voluntary recall of the GE Zoneline Air Conditioners and Heaters.
90,600 units have been impacted by the recall.
An electrical component in the heating system can fail and pose a fire hazard. There have been four fire incidents reported.
The recall uses a GE Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner and heat pumps made between January 2010 and March 2011. Most are used in apartment buildings and commercial space.
Customers should stop using the air conditioning and heating units in the heat mode and schedule a repair with General Electric,
