MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) -- A South Carolina man who survived a kamikaze attack and rode out a typhoon on the USS Yorktown during
World War II is sharing his experiences with the online generation.

Eighty-six-year-old Harold Syfrett of Ladson is one of a handful
of World War II vets returning to the carrier next week for a
reunion. Volunteers from the Witness to War project will be
recording their combat experiences.

The nonprofit Web site puts combat stories of vets online.

It was started by Atlanta businessman Tom Beaty, who hopes the
short, concise clips draw the attention of younger Internet users.
The group is redoubling efforts to collect veterans stories because
a World War II vet dies about every 90 seconds.
