Updated: 8:06 AM - We have new developments regarding medical care at Augusta's VA hospital. Veteran Kenneth Dixon is suing the Department of Veterans' Affairs. He said during a 2010 hip surgery, doctors left a sponge inside him. Dixon claims he complained to medical personnel for 2 years that his hip was not healing properly. He sought corrective surgery from a doctor outside the VA. Dixon's lawsuit falls on the same day as Charlie Norwood VA Director Robert Hamilton announced his resignation.
