Updated: 03/27/2014 - Some Aiken workers are feeling like they've left out in the cold after the ice storm. They thought they'd get paid over time for working the three days the city was closed. When they got their checks the extra money wasn't there. Now, the Aiken City Council is trying to resolve the problem.

Superintendent on new search: There's disappointment, but I respect the board's decision

Updated: 03/27/2014 - Our area's largest school system is now looking for a new superintendent. Monday night Richmond County board members voted not to renew Dr. Frank Roberson's contract. Members met behind closed doors for more than 2 hours, before making it official. News 12 was at the meeting where an 8 to 1 vote opened up the search for a new superintendent. Dr. Roberson's contact will end in August.

Deputies: Trenton man arrested for ill-treatment of 77 horses

Updated: 03/26/2014 - An Edgefield County man is facing an animal cruelty charge for allegedly mistreating 77 horses. On Saturday morning, deputies raided a horse farm near the corner of Vann Road and New Market Road in Trenton. But as News 12's Chad Mills found out, they didn't seize all 77 horses.

Update: Walmart will reimburse woman, says no glitch with EBT system

Updated: 03/24/2014 - A Walmart rep confirms the store will refund the money a woman spent on items that should have been covered by her Food Stamps. The store says the confusion came from the personal limit the woman wanted to charge on her EBT card. Walmart says there is no problem with their EBT system. Walmart says their customers are priority, so they will also give the customer an additional $50 gift card for her trouble. Read below for the full story.

Deputies: Man breaks in home, possibly starts a fire to get away

Updated: 03/23/2014 - A search ends with a man behind bars after deputies say he broke into an Aiken county home and then possibly set it on fire. All that happening on Connector Road on Saturday afternoon. Deputies says the homeowner was held at gunpoint and the sheriff's office credits her safety to fast thinking. Investigators tell me she was home alone when the man broke in, but when she saw the chance she bolted for the door.
