Homeless man identified in fatal weekend accident in Harlem

HARLEM, Ga. -- The man killed in an accident in Harlem on Saturday has been identified.
Columbia County Deputy Coroner Harriet Garrison says the victim is 49-year-old Anthony Pleban Varga. He is a white male.
Investigators say Varga walked into oncoming traffic and was hit by a truck on the 3300 block of Gordon Highway at Sheryl Drive.
Garrison says they are releasing his name because they have exhausted every lead in their search for his next of kin. They're hoping his relatives and friends will find out through the news and contact the Coroner's Office.
The driver will not face charges for the accident.
