NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (WRDW) - City leaders announce Medac Inc., an Augusta based company, plans to establish its corporate headquarters in North Augusta, adding about 200 new jobs.

The company, which provides medical billing to healthcare providers, said it is consolidating three of its facilities into one building near the North Augusta Municipal Center.

Officials say it's a $12 million dollar investment that will employ about 615 people. Around 400 of Medac's current employees will be moving to the new facility.

The new plan stems from Project Jackson that will move the Greenjackets to the South Carolina side of the river.

City leaders announced the $150,000,000 plan last year saying it would bring in other businesses like hotels and restaurants, creating hundreds of jobs.
