SALUDA COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW) -- An employee of Powell's Trash Service died on Tuesday after a trash can fell on his chest.

The Saluda County coroner has identified the man as 43-year-old Dennis Holston. The coroner says Holston was putting a trash can on the lift when it came loose and fell on him.

Holston was able to get the can off him and drove over to Edgefield County, which is when he called 911 because he was still feeling pains in his chest.

Holston died shortly after arriving to the emergency room at Georgia Regents Medical Center.

An autopsy is underway.
