AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A woman is charged with deprivation of a minor after an incident on Sunday.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about a juvenile shoplifter at the Kmart on Gordon Highway.

Deputies say 25-year-old Dorothy Saffo watched her daughter get arrested for shoplifting and then fled the scene.

Two hours after the initial call, deputies say Saffo returned to the scene and was taken into custody. She is charged with one count of deprivation of a minor.
