AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- A home invader hit a woman in the face with a baseball bat after she confronted him in her home Monday morning, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office said.

The woman had two toddlers home on Pride's Crossing off Hitchcock Parkway, at the time of the incident, the Sheriff's Office said. After the woman challenged the suspect, he hit her in the face and ran away.

The children were not hurt and the woman didn't need to go to the hospital, the Sheriff's Office said.
