Woman given life sentence for 2011 shooting, dragging death

MCDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- Tina Wells, the woman accused of killing shooting and dragging Jennifer Kitchens Wells to death in 2011, pleaded guilty Thursday.

Wells pled guilty to a charge of malice murder and was sentenced to life in prison., the clerk of court said. She also pled guilty to a charge of armed robbery and was sentenced to 20 years confinement. That will be served consecutively with the life sentence.

Ricky Charles Wells, the Dearing man accused of killing his ex-wife, pleaded guilty to malice murder and armed robbery in December 2013.

In 2012, the judge set bond for both Ricky Wells and Tina Wells at $1 million each.

The pair pleaded not guilty in March 2013.
