Augusta, Ga. (WRDW) -- The woman who was rescued from a burning house earlier this month, sustaining third degree burns, has now died.
Karla Harter was pronounced dead at 9:57 a.m. Monday morning at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta.
She was in critical condition for more than a week with 3rd degree burns to 85 percent of her body.
She was in a house off of Crawfordville Drive when it caught fire. After she was rescued by a neighbor, the Richmond County Fire Department found a man, Henry Jefferson III, dead inside.
Harter's body has been sent to Atlanta for an Autopsy.
