CRAWFORDVILLE, Ga. (WRDW) -- Two people are dead and one was injured after their car was hit by a train Tuesday afternoon in Crawfordville, Ga.
Georgia State troopers say it happened at the intersection of Lexington and Park streets in downtown Crawfordville around 5:30 p.m.
Troopers say 26-year-old Debbie Curry drove through a stop sign at a railroad crossing and the train hit the passenger side of the vehicle. Curry later died at the hospital.
Passenger 26-year-old Bridget Turner died on the way to the hospital.
The backseat passenger, 38-year-old Lorenzo Alexander, was injured as well but is expected to recover, according to troopers.
Troopers are investigating the crash.
