Woman accused of shooting husband

A woman was charged with aggravated assault after deputies say she shot her husband.

EMANUEL COUNTY, Ga (WRDW) --- The Emanuel County Sheriff's Office is investigating a domestic dispute that ending in a shooting.

It happened Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. on Christopher Drive in Swainsboro.

Deputies say Andrea Woods shot her husband Derrick Woods in the chest while they were in a possible domestic dispute.

Deputies say Woods tried to drive himself to the Emanuel Medical Center after being shot. They say an ambulance intercepted him on his way. He was later flown to GRU for treatment.

He has been upgraded from critical to stable condition.

Deputies say the wife left the scene after the shooting but later turned herself in to Sheriff's office.

She is charged with aggravated assault and is being held in jail without bond.
