BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- A woman has been arrested in an accident in Burke County that killed a real estate agent in February.
The Burke County Sheriff's Office said April Dubose, 29, is facing possession of meth, two counts of serious injury by vehicle, vehicular homicide in the first degree while declared a habitual violator, failure to stop at a stop sign, DUI (marijuana), three counts of endangering a child under the age of 14 while driving under the influence, possession of drug related objects and possession of marijuana under an ounce.
Deputies say Dubose, with three kids inside her own car, didn't stop at a stop sign and hit Leah Brumfield's car with two children inside. The passengers in the Honda were ages 13 and 3, Georgia State Patrol said. The passengers in the Kia were ages 9, 6, and 5.
The accident happened on Highway 56 South and Byne Sunshine Road on Feb. 28.
Dubose is being held on a bond of more than $113,000.
