Waynesboro awarded $50,000 from Georgia DOT

Sylvania was awarded $50,000 and Greensboro was awarded $46,043 from Georgia Department of Transportation.

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW) -- Georgia Department of Transportation awarded Waynesboro a grant to beautify a portion of the city.

The $50,000 will be used for a triangular piece of property across from Walmart as you come into Waynesboro, the city manager said. Leaders are still finalizing the plan and expect to know the start and finish dates in the next 30 days.

Sylvania was awarded $50,000 and Greensboro was awarded $46,043 from Georgia Department of Transportation.

The Georgia Department of Transportation recently awarded more than $1,346,000 for the 2014 GATEway Grants to 43 local government entities around the state.
