Warrants out for alleged car theft ring

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- Grand jury arrest warrants have been issued for six people after a nine-month embezzlement investigation by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation showed 104 vehicles belonging to Pik-A-Part were removed from the business without the permission of Pik-A-Part over a two-year span.

This scheme was orchestrated by Pik-A-Part employees and several licensed business in Augusta, according to the sheriff's office.

During the course of the investigation, stolen vehicles were located at the following locations:

  • 34 located at Norris Used Auto Sales, 2543 Peach Orchard Road

  • 11 located at Brown’s Automotive, 1555 Doug Bernard Pkwy

  • 4 located at 612 Dennis Drive

  • 11 sold on the street

  • 44 are still missing at the time of the press release

In addition to these vehicles, $99,000 was taken over an 18 month period, according to the sheriff's office.

At the time of the investigation Dennis McDaniel, Tammy Johnson and Timothy Bailey were all employees of Pik-A-Part.
