A woman is behind bars accused of stabbing her boyfriend during a fight.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A woman is behind bars accused of stabbing her boyfriend during a fight.

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office arrested 24-year old Elizabeth Staten today, January 7th, for stabbing Robert McBride.

Deputies say the stabbing happened at a home where the couple lived on Garden Brook Court Saturday on Jan. 4.

Investigators say Staten grabbed a knife and stabbed McBride in the chest, arm and back. An ambulance took the victim to the hospital for treatment.

The Sheriff's Office says Staten had felony arrest warrants for financial transaction card fraud, along with a charge of battery for the stabbing.
