LINCOLN COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- The alleged victim in a simple battery investigation is speaking out about his run-in with Larry Campbell.

Shaun Glass sent News 12 a letter. In it he said: "I will be contacting the Campbell family to allow Mr. Campbell to apologize as I know he deeply wants to do. This is a respectable family who deserves that right just as my family deserves the right not to be judged in the court of public opinion based on rumors and gossip."

News 12 talked with Glass who said he had been able to get in touch with the family, but would not provide details of what they talked about. Right now, Campbell is out on bond after Lincolnton police officers charged him with simple battery. Glass said he is not the one who called for Lincolnton police officers and was not the one who pressed charges.

Campbell and his attorney, Vic Hawk, delivered an apology Friday at Hawk's law office in Augusta.
