AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A woman is claiming that a cab driver tried to commit a sex act on her early Saturday morning.

According to a Columbia County Sheriff's Office incident report, the victim said she was drinking at The Playground on Broad Street when she asked the bar to call a cab for her.

She says a newer model Checker Cab pulled up, and she got in, gave the driver her address and passed out in the back seat. She says she woke up to a loud bang and saw her door was open and the cab driver was standing there.

The victim says the driver touched her inappropriately and made a lewd comment but that she shoved him off of her and he drove her home.

She says that when she called Checker Cab about the incident, the dispatcher told her an impostor is driving around in a Checker Cab and trying to commit sex acts on different female victims. She could not remember the name of the dispatcher that she spoke to.

The victim describes the man as being between 35 and 45 years old, about 5'10" and 170 pounds with a short Afro and short facial hair.

News 12 tried to contact Checker Cab about the incident, but calls were not returned.

A Richmond County deputy says the Sheriff's Office has not received any reports about impostor Checker Cab drivers.
