AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW)- Venisha Brown was stabbed on the 200 block of Telfair Street in Olde Town Friday afternoon, according to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. News 12's sources confirm that Venisha is James Brown's daughter.

Brown told deputies she was running errands with "David," an acquaintance, when a fight over gas money started. She said David took out a small pocket knife and slashed her several times.

David took some cash an older model green Ford truck with a possible SC tag and tinted windows, deputies said.

David is described as a 40-year-old black male with a bald or shaved head and no facial hair. He was wearing a tan shirt and shorts, deputies said.

Brown had cuts on her arms, but the injuries were non life-threatening.
