RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- A local camp teaching children living with diabetes about their disease is shutting down.

Last night, University Hospital announced it will close Camp Juliet. The camp, hosted by the hospital's Diabetes Services Department, has provided children, their families and volunteers a place to learn and play for the past 28 years.

University Hospital says the camp was no longer needed, since children taking part at the camp are part of another camp and the services it provides.

Workers in Diabetes Services say they will continue to education children and their parents through other community events.
