AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton says the body found on Tuesday evening off Hamelin Road has been ruled a homicide.
A coroner's office release says the victim is 37-year-old Kevin M. Holder of Swansea, S.C. The release says Holder died of a gunshot wound.
Investigators were called out to the scene near the intersection of Hamelin Road and Piper Road around 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
Capt. Eric Abdullah with the Aiken County Sheriff's Office immediately called the death suspicious.
The autopsy was performed Wednesday morning in Newberry. Circumstances of the death are still under investigation, the report says.
