A Greenville fugitive wanted by the United States Marshals Service and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office was arrested in Augusta Tuesday morning on a charge of criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11 years old.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- A Greenville fugitive wanted by the United States Marshals Service and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office was arrested in Augusta Tuesday morning on a charge of criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11 years old.

James Friedman Patton, III was apprehended by the United States Marshals Service’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF).

Patton was captured after a foot chase through an apartment complex and nearby woods, according to a release. Patton was wanted for his alleged sexual assault of a 3-year-old girl.

According to a release, Patton has a criminal history including arrests for assault, firearms, robbery, narcotics, probation violations, and parole violations.
