Two arrested in Aiken drug bust

AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW)- Investigators from the Aiken County Sheriff's Office and Aiken Department of Public Safety arrested two Aiken men on drugs charges and outstanding warrants.

Today's arrest of Prince Jemele Thomas, 30, and Quishon Islar, 19, in the joint narcotics investigation, stemmed from the raid on June 25th.

At 10:30 this morning, authorities searched a home on Florence St., in Aiken after a long undercover investigation.

The Aiken County Sheriff's Office says, Prince Thomas was the subject of that investigation. When they raided the home, they seized powder cocaine, crack cocaine, several weapons and an unspecified amount of money.

Thomas is charged with trafficking crack cocaine 3rd, possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine ½ mile of a school, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine 3rd, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine ½ mile of a school, possession of firearm during violent crime (2 counts), and possession of a firearm by person unlawful (2 counts).

Investigators say Islar was at the home at the time of the raid and was arrested on outstanding warrants of criminal domestic violence and purse snatching.

Aiken County Sheriff Michael Hunt says, "It is important for our citizens to
know that we are continuously working hard to hold individuals accountable for dealing narcotics in our neighborhoods. These arrests are an example of information sharing between citizens and law enforcement.”
