AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- Two people arrested after officials say they attempted to rob a local business.
Vanessa Drummings, 20 and James Antonio Frazier, 18, were arrested yesterday for an attempted robbery that happened on April 28.
It happened at the Windsor Jewelers on Jefferson Davis Highway in Beech Island.
According to an employee, the two parked their car numerous times in front of the building. He says he saw the male, later identified as Frazier, with a red shirt wrapped around his face in the back seat.
The employee told investigators the female, later identified as Drummings, came into the business and left. After she left, the employee says he locked the door and saw Frazier walk from behind the business with a red shirt wrapped around his face.
The employee says the couple drove away but was able to get the license plate number, make and model of the car. He then called the Sheriff's Office.
Officers with the Aiken Department of Public Safety initiated a traffic stop and arrested Frazier and Drummings on crimes not related to the attempted robbery.
Drummins is being charged with attempted armed robbery and Frazier is being charged with unlawful carrying a pistol, possession of a firearm by convicted felon, mask wearing, and attempted robbery.
