MILLEN, Ga. (WRDW) -- A Twin City police officer was killed in a car crash on Friday trying to flee law enforcement, the Jenkins County Sheriff's Office confirms.

Officer Dillon Gay died in an off-duty crash on Highway 25 north of Millen.

Georgia State Patrol said Gay was fleeing law enforcement officers in Jenkins County around 6:20 p.m.

GSP said the man was driving erratically and overturned after a trooper tried to stop him. Gay was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his truck

GSP said Gay intentionally hit a sheriff's vehicle on the left side and then slammed on his brakes attempting to wreck the trooper as he approached.
