Prankster set up painted turkeys in Edgefield's town square

Tuesday, April 1, 2014

EDGEFIELD (WRDW) -- It looks like the spirit of April Fools' Day is alive and well in downtown Edgefield.

A quick check of the town's camera shows turkeys have invaded the square. Police say somebody unbolted the five painted turkeys overnight, set them up in a semi-circle, and put out feed for them as well.

Edgefield Police Chief Ronnie Carter said none of the turkeys were damaged during their trip from the store fronts.
