Truck pulls down electrical wires in Hephzibah

Hephzibah, Ga (WRDW) - A dump truck driver taken to the hospital after his truck struck an electrical wire.

Around 5 this morning Richmond County deputies arrived to scene on Highway 88 in Hephzibah.

Richmond Co deputies says a dump truck coming down highway 88 in when the truck bed came up and struck tension electrical wires overhead.

Deputies say the truck pulled down wires then the wires tangled up and pulled the truck on to its side.

The driver was injured, but EMS was not called to the scene because the driver had a private vehicle take him to the hospital.

Hephzibah Police also responded to the scene. Part of the road was shut down for an hour but it's now reopen. The power lines are still down but Georgia Power is on the way to get lines back up.
