AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The co-owner of Airstrikes Extreme Sports says their trampoline park will open within a week. Sally Halloway did not, however, give an exact date for opening.

Halloway says training for new employees began Monday. She says they have received about 750 applications, but were only able to hire 40 of those workers.

The exact opening date will depend on when final safety inspections on the park are completed.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- It's a park where people of all ages can run wild and News 12 is getting a sneak peek.

AirStrike Extreme Sports trampoline park will be home a place to play dodgeball, climb up walls, and even bounce through a ninja course.

"It sounds like a good idea but my biggest concern would be safety," concerned Mother, April Thomas said.

AirStrike Extreme Airsports park, a place to jump, bounce and dodge, is expected to come in May but April Thomas has a few questions about the opening especially for her 8-year-old son.

"Not a lifeguard, but is someone going to be out there with the children watching the children?" Thomas said.

Co-owner and General Manager, Sally Halloway has all the answers for this mom and more.

"We are looking to hire about 35 to 40 all part-time positions for the coolest job and we'll have positions out on the park kind of like a trampoline life guard so to speak," Halloway said.

Halloway said she already has 300 applications submitted to fill those positions. She is dwindling it down to 60 in the next two weeks.

"The park is going to have a capacity of about 180 jumpers and of course it's such a huge building that there will be plenty of people to come and be spectators," Halloway said.

For younger kids, parents will of course need to sign a waiver and can come in to watch for free. Participants will pay for one to two hour slots, or flight times, to run and jump around the whole park.

"We want them to experience Joy and just be a kid again No matter if they are 85 or 5 or younger just move and have fun and get away from video games for a little while."

The park has 22,000 square feet of up to 90 trampoline service mats.

"We're just thrilled to come to the Augusta market and show them the biggest, baddest, coolest sports trampoline park on the planet," Halloway said.

Halloway expects the park to be in open in May. There is no definite date yet.

AirStrike is located where the old Augusta Ice Sports arena was. The company says they will post any updates on their facebook page and of course we'll keep you posted here.
