FAIRFAX, S.C. (WRDW) -- News 12 has confirmed with Hampton Police Department the car from Friday morning's accident is listed as stolen.
The two people in that car are in critical condition after an Amtrak train collided in Allendale County.
Hampton PD said the car was reported stolen from Varnville, S.C.
Fairfax Police says the accident happened about two miles outside of Fairfax on Barkers Mill Pond Rd just after 4 a.m.
Train #91 had 178 passengers on it and none of them were injured, Kimberly Woods of Amtrak said. The train was going from New York City to Miami.
Officers say two people were in the car and both were airlifted to GRU Medical Center.
Roads were blocked from about a mile from where the accident happened.
Amtrak is cooperating with local authorities on the investigation.
