UPDATE: 'Mega load' safely transported to plant

WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW) -- Georgia Power moved a "mega load" down a number of highways as they moved a massive deaerator vessel to Plant Vogtle over the weekend.

It's an 18-foot wide and 235-foot long load, weighing more than 940,000 pounds.

Check out the routes it took below:

  • Effingham County: Ebenezer Road and State Route 21
  • Screven County: State Route 21, US 301/State Route 73, State Route 24
  • Burke County: State Route 24, Murray Hill Road, Millhaven Road, State Route 23 and Ebenezer Church Road
