AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- There was some traffic along I-20 eastbound after an accident involving a tractor trailer and a car Thursday afternoon.
Investigators say Edward Lane, who was driving a Chevy Malibu, was traveling onto the 172 exit ramp when the car sideswiped the tractor trailer on the front right side. The vehicles bounced off one another, and the red car went underneath the truck.
The truck was loaded with asphalt shingles, which spilled onto the roadway. One lane is closed while crews pick up shingles.
Two of the people in the red car, the driver and Delphene Lane, were taken to the hospital with head injuries. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
The driver of the truck, Timothy Whetstone, was also taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
Charges are pending against the driver of the car.
