AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW) -- It's a simple step for Sharonda Williams, to protect what's most valuable to her.
"I usually leave my pocket book in my trunk, I make sure I lock it," she said.
But sometimes a lock, can't protect against today's criminals.
"A combination lock so whatever I bring with me," Williams said.
"They actually took a wallet with credit cards," Detective Jeremy Hembree with Aiken Public Safety said.
All the two men in a white Dodge Charger walked into Golds Gym and broke into a locker.
"Then exit Golds gym and actually go to a different vehicle, enter it." explained Hembree.
Surveillance cameras catch it all as the crooks take a wallet full of credit cards. Next door in Richmond County, investigators say the exact same thing happened.
"Showing the same individuals doing the same thing from a larceny at their Golds Gym," Hembree said.
This past November, thieves hit Gold's Gym in Aiken again, breaking into four cars.
"We're not sure if those are connected but we have in the past had several breaking and entering autos at Golds Gym," he said.
Both counties are working together to catch the crooks and lock them up. Until then, Williams will be a little more cautious.
"As you can see, I got a handful right here," she said.
With all that she brings into the gym or leaves in her car.
"If you're only going to the gym, leave everything you don't need behind," Hembree said.
