AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- If you live near Fort Gordon, you may experience some problems with unlicensed garage door openers as local military radio systems transition to a new frequency range.

Testing began last week. These frequencies are often in the same range used by unlicensed garage door openers, which could interfere with the use of wireless controls. This should not interfere with the installed hard-wired controls on the garage door.

According to a news release, Fort Gordon had planned on notifying the public about the frequency transition, but testing started earlier than expected.

If you have problems with your garage door opener, contact your garage door manufacturer or a local repair shop for help.
