Monday, Jan. 14, 2013

SWAINSBORO, Ga. (WRDW) -- A Swainsboro family is planning a funeral after a teen died in a crash over the weekend.

Georgia State Patrol troopers say 16-year-old Artavious Howard died Saturday night on Green Spence Road. GSP says he was not wearing a seat belt.

Investigators say Howard was a passenger in the car of 24-year-old Sterlyng Williams. Troopers say Williams drove his 1995 Chevy Caprice car off the road and down an embankment before overturning.

Howard, Williams, 24-year-old Marissa Dekle and 15-year-old Keon Burke were thrown out of the vehicle.

Williams has been charged with vehicular homicide and other traffic-related offenses.

If you have any information on this accident, call the Emanuel County Sheriff's Office at (478) 237-7526 or the Georgia State Patrol at (478) 289-2599.
