Suspicious package found in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW) -- The Richmond County Sheriff's Office responded to a suspicious package at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The package was found at the Rite Aid on 15th and Fenwick streets, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The Bomb Squad responded and declared the area safe. The Sheriff's Office said someone discarded what looked like an older live ammunition.

The Sheriff's Office does not know if it was suspicious or criminal behavior or if someone was discarding the ammunition.

There were no damage or injuries.
