Suspicious bag found at park in Grovetown

GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW) -- Investigators are on the scene at Memorial Park in Grovetown where a suspicious bag was found.

Chief Gary Owens says an unlabeled bag with suspicious items, like laundry detergent in an unlabeled bottle, was found on the 100 block of W. Robinson Avenue.

The call came in around 10:40 a.m. Thursday.

The Hazmat team and bomb squad are on the scene removing the substance.

The area is expected to be blocked off for the next 30 minutes.
