NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- Three suspects involved in a prostitution ring in Georgia and South Carolina have pleaded guilty.
U.S. Attorney for the District of South Carolina Bill Nettles says 42-year-old Maria Garcia-Moreno, 30-year-old Ruben Cabanas-Torres and 51-year-old Esteban Acosta-Munoz pleaded guilty to "transporting an individual across state lines for the purpose of having her engage in prostitution."
The trio admitted to transporting illegal immigrants between Atlanta and Aiken County to engage in prostitution with migrant workers.
Sentencing has not been set at this time, but the maximum penalty they could receive is 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
