COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- News 12 has the latest updates on two court cases involving spice busts.
Atul Patel, who owns Lewiston Express, and his son, Kinjalkumar Patel, both pleaded not guilty at their arraignment on Friday. The Patels are charged with 18 counts of possession of spice with intent to sell.
The Patels were arrested after investigators found 400 bags of spice at their convenience store on Lewiston Road in June 2012.
The owners of the Pumpkin Center store, Young Ju Kim and Hyun Su Kim, also pleaded not guilty on Friday. The Kims are charged with 17 counts of possession of a counterfeit substance with intent to distribute.
Investigators say they found about 800 grams of spice in the couple's Harlem store and another 3,000 grams at their home in July 2012.
