Armed robbery suspect says he was trying to feed his family

MARTINEZ, Ga. (WRDW) - A man arrested for armed robbery tells officer he was just trying to feed his family.

Joshua Adams, 19, was arrested Thursday outside the Dollar General in Martinez. Officials said he entered the Dollar General with a gun and demanded money from the clerk. They said he put the money in a pillowcase and left.

An officer recognized him outside the store and arrested him. They said as he was putting him in handcuffs, Adams said he didn't want to hurt anyone, he just wanted to feed his family.

All money was recovered and turned over to the victim.
