UPDATE: Attorney accused in attempted robbery of bank

MARTINEZ, Ga. (WRDW) -- A local attorney was arrested in the parking lot of the bank he allegedly tried to rob on Furys Ferry Road Monday afternoon.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says 47-year-old Ronald Jin Man Pak of Evans walked into the Wells Fargo Bank, told the teller he had a gun and demanded cash. The incident happened around 2:11 p.m.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Pak was arrested as he was leaving the bank parking lot by a deputy who was responding to the call.

The gun was recovered, and no money was taken during the incident.

Pak is charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony.

Pak was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1992, and according to its website, is an active member in good standing.
