Suspect in YDC killing expected to accept plea deal next week

Friday, Oct. 12, 2012

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The suspect who investigators say killed a fellow inmate at the Augusta Youth Development Campus is expected to accept a plea deal next week.

Michael Everidge is accused in the 2011 beating death of 19-year-old Jade Holder. If Everidge accepts the plea deal, he will also be sentenced next week.

Once news of Holder's death came to light, News 12 launched an intense investigation into the facility, unveiling corruption and other illegal activities. Click here to see News 12's special investigation into the YDC.

Sources told News 12 that multiple people were involved in the fight that ultimately killed Holder, but as of right now, Everidge is the only one charged in the murder.
