BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW) -- The tardy bell is ringing again in Burke County School District as the students kick off another school year.

Teachers at Burke County Middle School said they're excited to start the year off right.

Eighth grade teacher Felicia Goode said the following makes up the formula for success:

- Make sure you start the students off getting motivated
- Get their materials together
- Get the students ready for a new year at school

Goode is a veteran teacher at Burke County Middle school and she's not nervous about the rush of the first day.

"I make sure I plan well the night before, have a good night's rest and have everything in order for the students to come in," Goode said.

Teachers at the school said they're excited to start using STEM fundamentals in the classroom and some students will even have their own Nook tablet to use in certain classes.
